Jaguars Stadium aka “The Black Hole” At A Glance
Capacity: 4000
Field: Kentucky Bluegrass
Traditions: Since the beginning, the Jaguars football team has entered ‘The Black Hole’ to the “Imperial Death March” played by the school marching band. They are lead by a group of students holding torches and flags, followed by the cheerleaders and poms to the stadium player entrance. There, the players stand for the national anthem before blasting through a huge paper banner designed by the cheerleaders and poms while the fight song plays.
Listen as "The Voice of Northwest Jaguars football". Mr. Matt Noble- who also serves as 'The Voice' for The University of Maryland Terrapins Womens basketball team- electrify the sound speakers as he calls the action from the booth.
Band director Mr. Orifici has continued to improve the marching band every year. The famous “get up” chant gets the fans on their feet and jumping in unison to the music of the marching band.
At halftime, the poms would perform their routine followed by the marching band’s college-inspired number.
The concessions sells a variety of food from hotdogs, hamburgers, cola drinks, water, tortilla chips, nachos, candies, pizza, fries, and hot cocoa on cold nights. Fans can also buy jaguars spirit items such as seat cushions, mini poms, temporary tattoos, stickers, etc.
A 50/50 raffle winner is announced by the beginning of the second half where the fans wait and hope to see another Jaguars victory. There are more to see, be there for the experience. Go Jags!
